Le vieux Lyon

The traditional menu was highly disappointing. The quality of ingredients is very low and the restaurant seems to take the advantage of location and tourists who are visiting the city first time. I don’t believe they have such high score in google, it seems rather some fake comments or ratings. The meat - entrecote served to us was incredibly bad, and we paid for it! The chef there did not add any salt / seasoning on this chewy meat. As a person who has a great admiration for French cuisine, it is not hard to imagine that these people who served us will not come to eat in the same place. Anyway, the only score you get from me is for the service and atmosphere.

We stopped in Lyon and visited this restaurant during our trip from Germany to Barcelona.
The service was quick, and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. However, we were very disappointed with the food, especially the entrecôte. We have never had such a dry and tough entrecôte in France—not in Germany as well. The meat was completely unseasoned and not even salted, very chewy, and tasted as if it had never been properly marinated or prepared.

Considering the price we paid, we expected much better quality and preparation.

My rating is only for the service and the staff. The food does not deserve any stars. The chef should review either the cooking techniques or the quality of the meat supplied.

J'ai dîné dans ce restaurant à Lyon le 7 juillet. J'ai commandé un verre de vin à 5 euros, mais l'addition mentionne une bouteille à 36 euros. On m'a indûment extorqué 31 euros. Cette erreur est bien trop flagrante pour être considérée comme une simple méprise. Je conteste fermement cette situation et, si je ne suis pas remboursé, je porterai plainte auprès de la Direction générale de la protection des consommateurs (DGCCRF). Si vous dînez dans ce restaurant, vérifiez bien votre addition avant de payer.
